Gian Brändli studied law at University of Fribourg (lic. iur. 2006; Dr. iur. 2010, summa cum laude, awarded the Prof. Walther Hug Award). During his doctoral studies he worked as a teaching and research assistant at the chair for civil law I (family and inheritance law) of Prof. Alexandra Jungo. In 2011 Gian Brändli was admitted to the Bar.
Since 2012 Gian Brändli has been working as an attorney at law in Zurich, initially in the area of corporate law/M&A and since 2014 mainly focusing on Swiss and international family and inheritance law. 2015-2017, in addition to his practice, Gian Brändli worked as a lecturer at the University of Fribourg in matrimonial property and inheritance law. In 2019 he became a Partner at Langner Arndt Rechtsanwälte AG. He provides advice to both, Swiss and international private clients regarding estate planning (prenuptial and inheritance agreements, wills) and he is active as a litigator of estate and family law matters (separation, divorce, division of estates).
He lectures and publishes regularly in his fields of expertise.
