After basic studies in psychology, Paul Langner read law at the University of Zurich. He was admitted to the bar in 1983. After several years at a district court in Zurich, Paul Langner set up his own law firm in 1984. Since 1993 he is focussing on family law and inheritance law.
Paul Langner specialises in the interfaces between family life and business life and also lectures on this subject. Challenging dispute situations in the area of family law and probate law prompted him to seek alternative solutions and undergo training at the University of St. Gallen as mediator.
Since 2009, he has been lecturing on the subject of family-law contracts in post-graduate studies at the universities of Freiburg and Zurich; these studies end with the Certificate of Advanced Studies in family law which leads to the Swiss bar-association title of family-law lawyer.
Advising clients in this area primarily involves planning and dealing with the financial effects resulting from changes in relationships or from death. This includes the structuring of contracts involving family law and making careful arrangements for comprehensive estate planning.
Paul Langner has two children from his first marriage. He has remarried and lives with his second wife and her children.
